In 2b we are taught by Mr. Dean and Mrs. Beattie.  We are also lucky to have our two class soft toys, Mr. Giraffe and Bentley, who we help with their learning by showing them our great behaviour and explaining to them all the different skills we are mastering.  We try to be independent with our learning and always try our best.  This term in literacy, we have been looking a book called Claude in the City, exploring the adventures of a courageous and curious dog called Claude and his friend Sir Bobblysock.

We have been learning all about famous landmarks in the city of London and written our own adventure story where Claude tracks down a famous painting that has been stolen from the National Gallery.  In year 2, we are working hard to make our writing more exciting by using lots of different adjectives and connectives, as well making sure we are punctuating our sentences correctly.

In Maths, we have been working hard on using the four operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.  We like to use these skills to investigate different problems – we have helped Claude plan lots of different routes around London and divide up a class in different ways to fit in pods on the London Eye.  Our Science this term has focused on materials and we are helping Claude pick the best material for a pair of sunglasses.  In Computing, we are practicing a variety of skills – this term, we have been planning and shooting a video about London landmarks.
In 2b, we have P.E. on a Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon.  We have homework every Friday, which needs to be returned on a Wednesday.  We get our home reading books changed on a Monday and Friday, so please remember to record in the reading journals if you require a new book.
